February 2023 - Subterranean Mexican Heritage Special

 


    I always wanted to do a mix set like this and focus on something that reflects on my Hispanic heritage. This is a full Subterranean mix that not just goes over Mexican goth, post punk and darkwave bands but I also touch upon industrial and metal bands from the country.

    The goth portion of the mix highlights both modern and older goth bands of the region from the famous Vestron Vulture and Gloom Wizard to the rising star Oscura Daemonia to touching ground with older bands like the legendary Caifanes who are highly influenced by The Cure and Latin rock. The end half of the portion finishes with both Twin Tribes who are a Texas based darkwave duo with a Hispanic background and Mexican darkwave/witch house solo project Ritualz.

    The second part of the set moves over to industrial which of course features none other than Hocico within the segment as well as other groups at the time such as Portent or Deus ex Machina.

    The end portion of the mix finishes off with darkly inclined metal bands that focus on either gothic, black or doom metal. This segment features two bands from my city. These are both Nethermost and Luciferian Rites, who have toured with big acts like Satanic Warmaster and Nargaroth to name a few. I went to High School with the frontman of Nethermost, please check them out with their respective links below. This end portion also features Luna Pythonissam which is one of many project under solo female multi-genre artist Victoria Carmilia H.       Mistress is back after a brief hiatus. There was so much new music to cover in goth, industrial and metal, so much. Not to mention anniversaries of certain releases, events and such forth. October 2022 - Subterranean Halloween Special

      This is probably my most ambitious mix I have ever done. This also marks 1 year since I been doing this and this has been a long wonderful journey. This massive mega Halloween mix is split into blocks. Consisting with the first block of Halloween goth classics which is followed by part two of the mix which is all new goth tunes for the month. The third segment is filled with Halloween industrial tunes. The final part of this mega mix is the dark metal portion. I use dark metal as a general term of course. This part will consist of higher production black metal to gothic metal to maybe even some death metal .
